Assistant Program Gymnastics Team Coach
Purpose: The purpose of this Assistant Team coach is to work closely with the Program Head Coach (JO) to meet the needs of, and support the growth of, the competitive gymnastics teams – particularly of our many existing and developed Jr. Olympic and Xcel levels. The right person must be prepared to take the place of the Head Coach as needed when they are away and be ready to lead a group of students at any level assigned. General responsibilities will likely also include higher level recreation classes, and team development classes, as well as student move ups and evaluation days at CSC. This is an important leadership position working with a powerful team of leaders with lots of room for growth personally, professionally, and financially. There are opportunities to support either the MEN'S or WOMEN'S programs - or both.
This position is open and available immediately.
Hours per week: Full-time - the main coaching hours are afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Plus competition travel and lesson planning, meetings, etc.
Pay: commensurate with the background and experience of the applicant. Additional pay is available for session based competitions and travel as well as private lesson income. Qualifications: All applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. with US Citizenship and proper work Visa's before an application will be considered. Former competitive gymnastics and coaching experience is required with specific level history in the Men's Program with USA Gymnastics or similar with a focus on Jr. Olympic gymnastics. Must be a high energy, positive and supportive person who is excited about working with kids of all ages and levels all the time.
Training/Education: Conditions of employment include: CPR, First Aid certification within the first 30 days and an "active" Professional Membership with USA Gymnastics. A BS degree in Physical Education or Kinesiology or the equivalent would be ideal, but is not required.
Skills: Excellent and proven communication and planning skills; leadership skills dealing with children; organizational skills, outgoing and energetic. A proven spotter on skills equal to the position assigned. BOYS AND GIRLS PROGRAM POSITIONS ARE OPEN.
